COACHING STAFF
Eric Soto - Head Coach
Coach Soto is originally from El Paso, Texas, and he has been coaching volleyball for a total of 27 years. He has coached both middle school and high school volleyball at the 3A - 6A classifications in Texas. This will be his sixth year serving as the Head Coach of the Raider volleyball program. In addition, he has coached for various USA club volleyball programs for ages 13 - 17 in the Austin area. Coach Soto is IMPACT certified, CPR/First Aid/AED trained, and is a member of the Texas Girls Coaches Association, the Texas High School Coaches Association, and the American Volleyball Coaches Association. He is a World Geography teacher at Cedar Ridge High School and is married and has three children and one grandchild. Outside of volleyball, he enjoys cooking and listening to live music.
Erika Richardson - JV Coach
Coach Richardson is an alumni of Cedar Ridge High School, class of 2018. She has a Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University - Texarkana, where she was a student-athlete in the softball program. During her time at Cedar Ridge, she lettered all four years in softball while also being named District Newcomer of the Year, District MVP, and a part of four district titles. While at TAMUT, she was part of a Red River Athletic Conference championship team and acquired tournament MVP. Since graduating from TAMUT, she has been an Assistant Softball Coach at Howard Payne University. She is currently a Business & PE teacher at Cedar Ridge and is entering her third year of coaching volleyball and softball. Her hobbies include running, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
Breanna Moss - Flex Coach
Coach Moss is a former 2017 graduate of Cedar Ridge, as well as graduating from both Temple College and Louisiana Tech University. During her time at Cedar Ridge, she lettered all four years in softball while acquiring district newcomer of the year, three times district pitcher of the year, and MVP. Throughout coach Moss’ collegiate softball career, she received NJCAA First Team All-American, Pitcher of the Year, Division l Midwest Region First Team awards, as well as Division l Pitcher of the Week while at Louisiana Tech University. She will be entering her fourth year of the Special Education Department and her fourth year of coaching volleyball and softball. Outside of volleyball and softball, coach Moss enjoys spending time with her husband Jace and dog Dunkin. They are also expecting a baby boy, due December 2025.
Justin Higginbotham - Freshman Coach
Coach Higginbotham is starting his 11th year teaching and coaching and this is his 9th year as a Softball Head Coach. He has a Bachelors of Science in Sports and Health Science as well as a Masters in Sports Management. He will be teaching Special Education Inclusion and comes with 1 year of Volleyball experience at La Vernia High School. His wife’s name is Allison, and two sons are Mason (16) and Justin Jr. (22). His oldest son is a 2021 graduate of Cedar Ridge High School. He is very dedicated to the game of Volleyball and all the life lessons that come with the sport. He’s very excited to be at Cedar Ridge helping lead a great program.
